Baking cookies and other fun activites

We mixed cookied dough, rolled out the dough and made gingerbread cookies.

We also decorated gingerbread houses with holiday counters.

We sorted big and little bows and made cookie patterns.

We played a cookie matching game.

The students had fun playing in the bakery.

Gingerbread House

We started to decorate the gingerbread house. We painted this week. Next week we will make patterns of candy and cookie shapes.

We had lots of fun painting!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend.

This week we will read "The Gingerbread Man".

Don't forget about the pot luck on Wednesday night at 5:30.

Vegetables

We made Salsa this week in cooking. We cut up tomatoes, cilantro and parsley.

We ran in the turkey trot on Wednesday.
We are taking care of the pumpkin seed sprouts.

We are shopping in the grocery store!

G Is for Grocery Store

The grocery store is opened in our Dramatic play area. We had fun shopping for fruits and Vegetables.

We dug up vegetables in the dirt and washed them in the sink.

We cut up pretend vegetables too!

We showed off our costumes in the parade.

We made Jack O'Lanterns too!

Next week, we will learn about fruits and veggies! We will have a grocery store set up in Dramatic Play. Please send in empty containers to stock our grocery store. (cereal boxes, milk jugs, cookie box etc.)

"E" is for eggs

We made hard boiled eggs and scrambled eggs this week in cooking. We tasted them and made a graph to see what kind of eggs we liked best.

Our Fall Harvest/Halloween celebration will be on Friday, October 29th. Both classes can wear their costumes to school. The am class will parade with Ms. Somer's class at 8:45, then have a small celebration afterwards.

The PM class will parade with the entire school at 1:40, followed by a small celebration. Both classes will make an orange "Halloween shake" for snack.
