T is for Transportation

We have started a new study on Transportation this month. Look for pictures from our class activities in the coming days.

We will make our own cars at the end of the month. Please send in one box for your child to make a car. It should be large enough for your child to sit in. Each child will make a car for our drive in movie.

P is for Penguins!

We had lots of fun learning about Penguins this week.

We made penguins at the art table.

We went fishing for penguin food. The penguin puppet loved the fish!

We also played the "Penguin Shuffle Game".

Snow!

We talked about Friendship. We made a friendship circle and sang a Friendship song.

M is for mittens and muffins!

We are learning about Mittens and Snow this week.
We made snowmen with our "snow playdough". We played with pretend snow too!
The children matched snowflake letters.

We made muffins in cooking this week.

Happy New Year!

On the Friday before break, the students had fun going on a train ride to the North Pole. When we got there we listened to the story "Polar Express". Then we went back to our class for hot chocolate. Yum! Unfortunately, I deleted the photos from my camera.

In January, we will learn about Mittens and snow weather clothing.

We will have 3 new students join us on January 3rd. Welcome to our new students and families.

We are looking forward to more fun and learning in 2011!

Baking cookies and other fun activites

We mixed cookied dough, rolled out the dough and made gingerbread cookies.

We also decorated gingerbread houses with holiday counters.

We sorted big and little bows and made cookie patterns.

We played a cookie matching game.

The students had fun playing in the bakery.

Gingerbread House

We started to decorate the gingerbread house. We painted this week. Next week we will make patterns of candy and cookie shapes.

We had lots of fun painting!
